Qissa movie has made 1st day box office collection of 3.5 crores approximately. The movie is really brilliant has many of the critics and viewers have given 4 stars out of 5 which is really commendable for film. The movie is released today on 20th February 2015.  The flick would have earned more but it dint create buzz and spread awareness about its release. TH films which have immense beautiful stories are mostly made in fewer budgets because which they are unable to promote their films but such movies awareness is spread by the audience themselves from mouth to mouth marketing. When we look something beautiful or attractive, we tell to 5 other people and the same the news of great movies are spread and after some days the movies work much better on cinema compared to initial days. This film is lead by Irrfan Khan and Tisca chopra who are far convincing to their roles in the flick which adds the business of the film. It has not been release on a large basis but nearly about 1500 screens all over India. The film is made in a budget of less than 20 crores.

Because of extremely less promotion the film was only able to attract 40 to 45% of viewers to the screens but it will increase in the weekend days. The movie story revolves around a family who suffered from problems faced after the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. This is a sikh family where Irrfan is playing Umber Singh who has 4 daughters and he grows her youngest daughter like a son who is unaware about her sexuality.
